The thing he's doing is illegal in a lot of countries, except for Indonesia.
One of my friends that knows about law told me that technically it isn't illegal if we would hire a HIV infected prostitute to appease him. At least, it isn't in Indonesia.
Both things are morally wrong though. I actually hope that CCP doesn't delete characters outed this way.
I don't know if thinly-veiled death threats are legal where you live, but I can see they are OK by your standards and EVE-O mods' (I couldn't help that you were careful not to condemn it, and just referred to indirect murder as morally wrong).
Nothing I could read so far about the Enslaver case leads me to think his outing was justified based on his actions, but it is easy to see how antagonizing the userbase over perceived bias and hand-waving on a regular basis can result in some (mis)behavior.
Also, I don't know all the specifics about this one, but I'm not sure any hacking was involved in retrieving the information about the Enslaver connection to CCP. Can someone clarify this ?
As was stated in the devblog: Originally by: "Arkanon" Upon his arrival, he voluntarily retired from his position of authority within the alliance he had helped run as a player and went as far as to offer to give the character up completely, if that was required.
Good move on his part, too bad CCP didn't take the opportunity to ask him to remove his character from his corp/alliance for the lenght of his internship.
Originally by: "Arkanon" His involvement ingame has been minimal since his arrival and he has almost completely withdrawn from his alliance duties.
This would be "almost completely" hilarious, except it's "completely scary" of you to seem to know so little about the dynamics of your own game, considering the rationale for GM/Devs being allowed to have player characters is for them to "get a feel" for the reality of the player experience.
You can't willingly step down from a role of influence in an IGA, as all those who tried will testify: either you're demoted forcefully or you are pretty much forced to change corp (or leave game) to avoid being dragged back in leadership business. That holds true for regular players, and I doubt it would be any easier for GM/Devs.
